Yoyotech Intel Viper

A surprisingly affordabe performance PC

A seriously desirable machine. This is the way mid-range PCs should be made

This Intel Core 2 Duo E6750-powered PC is very nearly as good as performance computing gets. Given the asking price, that's a reassuring thought for mere mortals who desire a powerful box but would rather not blow thousands on a PC.

The Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTS video chipset also delivers an end user experience that gets extremely close to the currently cutting edge.

OK, it doesn't pump pixels as rapidly as the sensationally powerful GTX model, but it is based on the best DirectX 10-compliant 3D technology in town.

Our only concern is the RAM. The quality of the Corsair DIMMs is impeccable. But, in our experience, Vista is a memory hog. Multi-taskers will find that 2GB isn't quite enough to avoid irritating levels of disk swapping and excessive hard drive activity. An extra GB would be very welcome.

But that niggle isn't enough to spoil what is otherwise an extremely powerful system that delivers both styling, panache and a depth of quality.
